These slotted spatula will become your new go-to cooking utensil. Made from hand-carved tropical hardwood, these spatulas measure approximately 10.5" in length. The wood used to make the spoons is purchased as cast-offs from carpentry shops or collected in the jungle. The spatulas are finished in beeswax and is food-safe. Each spatula is unique due to the piece of wood used to make the product.
This fair trade item was handcrafted by the group, The Spoonmakers of Peten. They started in 2002 with 4 families and have now expanded to a cooperative of 11 families. Many of the members of the group are health promoters in their communities and a percentage of their sales is donated to health programs.
