Sharing the Dream Boutique
Vermillion, SD
After reviewing the resources available to us as well as studying the changing retail environment, the Sharing the Dream Board of Directors has made the difficult decision to close our Vermillion Boutique and move the organization’s offices to Sioux Falls. Brick and Mortar retail has seen a downward trend over the past decade, and the pandemic accelerated that trend. As we’ve seen our brick-and-mortar sales decrease, we’ve seen our pop-up sales increase. The move to Sioux Falls will provide increased accessibility and proximity to those opportunities.
In May of this year, we opened a booth at Mulberry Market, located in the Empire Mall in Sioux Falls near Applebee’s. This booth will continue a physical presence, and we will expand our online and wholesale markets and outreach opportunities in order to continue to meet our mission of supporting artisans in Guatemala. Pop-Up locations will also be expanded around the country.
Our Vermillion Boutique’s final day was Tuesday, June 17th. We have loved every moment of our Vermillion presence and are so grateful for the thousands of volunteer hours and decades of support the community and its members have shown us. We hope that our supporters will continue to follow us in our new chapter and help us to reduce poverty for our friends in Guatemala. Thank you, Vermillion.
