Backstrap Weaving Class

Learn how to weave in Guatemala with talented artisans.

The weaving classes are taught by local Kaqchikel women, who are very talented weavers with many years of experience. The class will take place in the Sharing the Dream office in Panajachel where you will learn about the cultural importance of the backstrap loom, how to set up the loom, and make a product of your choosing.

We offer several options for the weaving class:

Option 1: 1 day (4 hours)- Make a sample of cloth
Option 2: 3 days (9 hours)- Make a placemat
Option 3: 5 days (15 hours)- Make a scarf

Please fill out the contact form below for prices, to receive more information on the weaving classes, or to reserve your dates.
