Long Handle Frying Spatula
This Long Handle Frying Spatula is great for cooking! A round handle flattens at the end to form the spatula, and the end of the spatula is angled. The spatula measures 13" in length and is hand-carved from tropical hardwood. The wood used to make the spatulas is purchased as cast-offs from carpentry shops or collected in the jungle. The spatulas are finished in beeswax and are food-safe. Each spatula is unique due to the piece of wood used to make the product.
This fair trade item was handcrafted by the group, The Spoonmakers of Peten. They started in 2002 with 4 families and have now expanded to a cooperative of 11 families. Many of the members of the group are health promoters in their communities and a percentage of their sales is donated to health programs.
