This basket was handwoven with pine needles and cotton thread and features a striking star design. The basket measures 10.5'' across the top and 9.5'' across the base. The basket is 2.25'' tall.
This fair trade Guatemalan basket is handmade by a group of women artisans in the mountains trying to sustain their families. The artisan group was originally founded after the civil war by war widows and orphans as a way to support themselves. The group started out by making woven bracelets, and now makes beautiful pine needle baskets. Purchase of this product helps the artisans to support their families and Sharing the Dream to support our programming in Guatemala.
