Wooden Spoon with Heart Handle

This wooden spoon is both stylish and functional and will add a little flair to your daily cooking. The spoon is hand-carved using scraps of tropical hardwood purchased from local carpenters or found out in the jungle. The handle has a heart on the top, and the spoon measures approximately 10" in length. Each spoon is unique due to the nature of the piece of wood it is carved from.
This fair trade item was handcrafted by the group, The Spoonmakers of Peten. They started in 2002 with 4 families and have now expanded to a cooperative of 11 families. Many of the members of the group are health promoters in their communities and a percentage of their sales is donated to health programs.
