Wooden Spreader Knife
The Wooden Spreader Knife is our most useful utensil yet. Use it for toast, cutting, spreads, and so much more. You name it, this sustainable knife does it. The knife is hand-carved using cast-off pieces of wood purchased from carpentry shops or collected in the jungle. The wood is finished in beeswax and are food-safe. They are made entirely by hand with no power tools. Each product is unique due to the piece of wood used to make the product.
This fair trade item was handcrafted by the group, The Spoonmakers of Peten. They started in 2002 with 4 families and have now expanded to a cooperative of 11 families. Many of the members of the group are health promoters in their communities and a percentage of their sales is donated to health programs.
