This striking basket is handwoven using pine needles and cotton thread. The beautiful shades of teal green are woven in to the shape of a wave that climbs up the side of the basket.

This fair trade Guatemalan basket is handmade from pine needles by a group of women artisans in the mountains trying to sustain their families. The artisan group was originally founded after the civil war by war widows and orphans as a way to support themselves. The group started out by making woven bracelets, and now makes beautiful pine needle baskets. Purchase of this product helps the artisans to support their families and Sharing the Dream to support our programming in Guatemala.
