Arte Mujer San Jacinto — AMASAJA

AMASAJA is a group of more than 50 women artisans from two villages close to Chiquimula who use palm and coconut leaves to weave baskets. The group originally wove hats, brooms, and mats from the palm fronds, but these items don’t sell at a high price. Now, the artisans make artfully crafted baskets and earn a higher price for their work so that they can better support their families.
