Large Spoon with Screw Design Handle
These spoons are both beautiful and functional. The handle is twisted into a screw design, which makes it easy to grip. The spoons measure 13" in length and are made from scraps of wood found on the skirt of the Toliman Volcano in San Lucas Toliman, Guatemala.
This spoon was handmade by an artisan group from San Lucas Toliman called Nueva Vida, or New Life. Nueva Vida is made up of young people who use the profits from the sales of the spoons to pay for their education. The sale of this product also supports community projects, such as providing school supplies to children from low-resource families. The spoons are hand-carved from wood scraps and are finished with beeswax for a food-safe product.
