This handcrafted rice spoon is versatile and beautifully carved. Spoon is made from collected Gravilea wood, a tree used to shade coffee plants in Guatemala.
This fair trade Guatemalan spoon is hand-carved by a group of young men artisans from San Lucas Toliman called Los Cuchareros. All of their spoons are made entirely by hand using tools such as machetes, mallets, and wood carving knives, and the wood used by this group is collected, not harvested. The spoons are finished with beeswax so that they are food-safe. The sales of this handmade product helps to support the artisans’ families, as well as a group of elders in the community of San Lucas Toliman.
