Vermillion native Laura Wilson will be reading from her new book, Stories of Survival, on April 11 from 1-3 p.m. at the Sharing the Dream in Guatemala store, 10 W. Main St. in Vermillion, South Dakota. The author will sign copies of her book.

Stories of Survival contains excerpts from interviews with Sharing the Dream’s elders in Santiago, Guatemala. Sixty Mayan elders share their memories and experiences about childhood, shared lives (dating, marriage, and parenting), armed conflict, Hurricane Stan, and Tz’utujil stories and traditions. Photography in the book is by Denny Pearson.
