Two schools, one in Suchitepequez and one in Zorzoya Village, are in desparate need of a library. Currently they
have very few books and woud love to have a library including math, geography, science, and story books as well as a set of
encyclopedias. It is very difficult for teachers to reach their goals when they do not have the materials necessary
to teach.
The school in Suchitepequez has approximately 600 students and the school in Zorzoya Village has 115. On average
there are between 30 and 40 students per teacher. Both schools are located in isolated areas. To reach the Zorzoya
Village School, one must walk 5 km on a dirt road.
You can sponsor a library for the Suchitepequez School for $1200 or a library for the Zorzoya Village School for $750.
